We had 34 volunteers join us, including a large contingent from the St Joseph confirmation classes. Volunteers collected 60 pounds/72 gallons at the library and along the trail and creek to Pinole Valley Shopping Center. In addition, a team of volunteers went out to the upper watershed, along Alhambra Valley Road and collected 199 pounds/105 gallons of trash plus a mattress, construction materials and car parts. Several volunteers also made a dent in the ivy at the Native Plant Garden.
We will meet at the Pinole Public Library and then "divide and conquer!" You can choose between driving out to the upper watershed to cleanup trash along Alhambra Valley Road which parallels our beloved Pinole Creek, cleaning up trash along the trail behind Pinole Valley High School and at the library, or working on tasks in the Library Native Plant garden.
